At Janis Guthy Counselling we provide a non-judgmental, safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment to help you develop a deeper understanding of your feelings, thoughts, behaviours, and relationships. This will help you to identify and break out of unproductive patterns and replace them with new positive and healthy patterns.

Janis Guthy is a practicing Chiropractor since 1982. Over the past thirty-six years she has been helping her patients with their emotional needs who were struggling with many issues such as aging, chronic pain, anger, grief and loss, depression, mood, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma and abuse.

This led Janis to study for her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University, while at the same time carrying on her Chiropractic practice. Janis’s experience is extensive as a Chiropractor and this compliments her role as a mental health clinician. She believes in the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship between herself and her clients as fundamental to effective therapy.

Her empathetic and non-judgmental approach combined with a a warm and supportive nature provides clients with a safe and comfortable space. Janis works from a person-centered, strengths based perspective which is flexible and adaptive to the needs of her client. She is non-judgmental and seeks to help the individual to work through negative belief patterns, uncomfortable thoughts and patterns.

Janis helps the client to view issues from different perspectives and develop new, healthy and interactive ways to live their life with balance. She believes that being self-aware can help the client to find their authentic self, build resiliency and find balance in their emotional, mental and physical well being.

Janis Guthy has a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University M.A. (Counselling Psych) and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor of British Columbia (RCC) and a non-certified Professional Member of the CCPA..

Depression
